About Nicole

Diagnosed with leukemia days before my 15th birthday, I spent my teens navigating treatment, recovery, and the unspoken work of learning what it means to be a cancer survivor. Years later, four cycles of egg freezing after chemo taught me what it feels like to own my fertility, track hormones, and try to make sense of what my body was doing.

Those experiences became the foundation of my career in wearables, women's health, and behavior change — and the source of my instinct to translate between the people producing health data and the people trying to live inside it.

After earning my MA in Psychology at Columbia University (with a concentration in Spirituality Mind-Body Studies) and becoming a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, I spent five years at Lief Therapeutics, an early-stage HRV biofeedback startup. I grew from their second coach hire to leading the coaching and partnerships function, built the SOPs and training programs that supported 300+ users annually, and served as primary clinical research liaison on a JAMA-published trial (2025) demonstrating a 64% reduction in substance use days through HRV biofeedback plus coaching.

At the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, I saw what healthcare workers were facing — and knew the impacts wouldn't end when the pandemic did. That conviction led me to spend three years researching and writing about nurses' well-being, ultimately co-authoring Courageous Well-Being for Nurses (Johns Hopkins University Press, 2023) with Dr. Donna Gaffney — an evidence-based guide for healthcare workers navigating burnout.

Along the way, I also consulted with Flo Health to pilot a group support program for women navigating fertility, coached children and families at Bend Health (acquired by Lyra Health), and owned brand and content strategy for a women's health journalist launching her first book.

Currently, I'm writing for Ohm Health about nervous system regulation and HRV, publishing thought leadership on LinkedIn, and exploring my next chapter with a growing focus on the intersection of wearables, women's health, and evidence-based behavior change.

Whether I'm building programs, writing an article, or in conversation with a founder, the underlying work is the same: translating between clinicians, researchers, and users, and turning complex science into something people can actually act on.

When I'm not working, you'll find me teaching at my local yoga studio, walking my poodle Ruby on the beach, or perfecting homemade matcha recipes.
