Nicole C. Foster, MA, NBC-HWC

From navigating a cancer diagnosis to driving success in health tech.

Days before my fifteenth birthday, I was diagnosed with leukemia. Years of treatment, recovery, and uncertainty shaped how I think about health — not as an absence of illness, but as something that requires active, ongoing attention to optimize well-being. Surviving cancer– and navigating survivorship– served as a unexpected catalyst to my career.

After college, I went on to study Psychology and Spirituality Mind-Body Studies at Columbia University, earning my MA in Psychology, and became a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach. What followed was a career in health tech driven by one consistent thread: helping people understand and optimize their own well-being.

Career highlights:

  • Five years at Lief Therapeutics, an early-stage HRV biofeedback startup — growing from their second coach hire to leading the coaching program and managing clinical and research partnerships, including a collaboration published in JAMA.

  • Consulting with Flo Health, piloting a group support program for women navigating fertility journeys.

  • Coaching at Bend Health, supporting children, adults, and families navigating mental health conditions.

I'm actively involved in several professional communities — including The Old Girls Club and In Women's Health. Locally, I am a part of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum's Visionary Network, a community and cause that holds deep personal meaning for me.

Outside of work, you can find me walking my rescue poodle, Ruby, writing personal essays, or somewhere near the water with a matcha latte. I'm also a trained trauma-informed yoga teacher — a practice that keeps me connected to the mind-body work where my path began.
